Action ratings

Die Hard to John Wick, by decade or across the lot. The action pool is where the audience and the critics disagree most cheerfully: films the crowd adores and the reviews shrugged at sit right next to the ones that won everything.

How these ratings are built

Every film blends two published numbers: its Letterboxd audience average and its Metacritic critic score. Each is standardised inside the genre, the two are averaged (audience alone when a film has no Metascore), and the blend is ranked within the genre and bent onto the 40-99 scale so a typical film lands near 80 and only the genuine greats reach the high nineties. Both raw numbers are shown on every row here and in the game's verdict screen.

Every rating in this category runs on the same 40 to 99 scale the rest of the game uses. There are 185 entries here across 6 pools. In the game itself these numbers stay hidden until the verdict screen, which is the whole point of the auction; this page is the reference copy, for settling arguments after the fact.

All-time

40 in this pool, from The Dark Knight at 99 down to Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior at 90.

This is the all-time pool. It takes the best of every decade and re-spreads them across the full 40-99 range among themselves, so an all-time draft has the same shape as a decade draft. That is why an entry here carries a different number from the one it has in its own decade table above.
