Privacy policy
What this site does with your data
Short version: very little. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no forms. The game runs in your browser and the names you type stay there. The site shows ads served by Google, and this page explains what that involves.
Effective September 12, 2026. This policy applies to 20dollardraft.com and www.20dollardraft.com.
What we collect
Nothing you enter. Player names, bids and results are held in your browser's memory only while you play. They are not sent to our servers or to anyone else, and they are gone when you close or reload the page.
No cookies of our own. The site does not set cookies for its own purposes. The daily draft keeps your result and your played, won and streak counts in your browser's local storage so the home page can show them; that data never leaves your device, and clearing your browser's site data removes it. Cookies set by our advertising provider are described below.
Server logs. The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify's servers receive the standard technical information your browser sends with every request: your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser and operating system type, and the referring page. Netlify may keep this information in server logs for security and operational purposes according to its own privacy policy. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors.
Third-party services that load with the page
To draw the game, your browser fetches a few resources from other companies' servers. Each of those companies receives your IP address and the standard request information described above, and handles it under its own privacy policy. We do not send them anything else.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. See Google's privacy policy.
- Player headshots are loaded from the servers of ESPN (NFL, NBA and Formula 1 players), MLB Advanced Media (baseball players), TheSportsDB (soccer players) and a small number of hall-of-fame and reference sites for all-time greats. The page asks the browser not to send a referring URL with these requests.
If an image or font fails to load, the game still works; you will just see initials instead of a photo, or a fallback typeface.
Advertising
This site uses Google AdSense to show ads, which is how it covers its costs. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons and device identifiers) to serve ads, to measure whether they were seen or clicked, and, where you have allowed it, to personalise ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in Google's advertising policies, and the third-party vendors Google works with are listed at this page.
You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings, and from many other vendors at aboutads.info. Blocking or deleting cookies in your browser also works; the game itself does not depend on cookies.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time using the privacy link at the foot of the page or by clearing site data. Visitors from some US states have similar rights to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, which the same consent tool honours.
Analytics
At the time of writing, this site runs no analytics of its own beyond the aggregate reporting that Google AdSense provides to us (page views and ad performance, with no personal information). If we add an analytics tool, this page will be updated first to name it and describe what it collects.
Children
The site is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because nothing you enter leaves your browser, there is nothing for us to delete. Ads on this site are not directed at children, and we have asked Google to treat the site accordingly.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct, export or erase on our side. Requests about server logs should go to Netlify under its privacy policy, and requests about advertising data to Google under its policy, using the links above. If you believe this site has collected something it should not have, please email hello@20dollardraft.com and we will look into it.
Links
Pages on this site may link to other websites, such as the sources of ratings and photos. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
